L'une des qualités les plus surprenantes du Jack Russell est cependant son caractère affectueux et amical. Il est spécialement bien disposé à l'égard des petits enfants.
Nous on aime ce chien de caractère, mais qui sait très bien faire de gros calins ...

Your breeder is a friend for life.
Nothing would make me happier than to have some news about your puppy, or even a photo.
Do not hesitate to contact me for some advice concerning his education.
Nobody knows your companion better! When he is older I can also advice you about his confirmation for example.
Some advice to be the master of your Jack Russel Terrier.
The puppy must be dominated. Do not place his basket in a strategique place, one where he can watch people coming and going in the house and he must never sleep in you bed.
If the dog is naughty, you must send him straight away, and isolate him in a room, staying there for a few minutes is an act of submission.
You must provide alot of outdoor experiences : frequent contact with other people and dogs, noisy atmospheres, markets ...You must also get him used to travelling by car.
You should avoid playing pulling, traction games which could favourise biting. You must absolutely refuse to be nibbled.
Know how to adjust the punishments, the tone of your voice is more important than useless violence. Holding the puppy by its skin is a severe punishment that puts the dog back into the position of total submission of the mother.
Do not allow the puppy to do what you will forbid him to do once adult.
Know how to take advice from breeders or confirmed trainers. For example a dog that bites someone and who puts his paw on the bitten person is not forgiven! Quite the opposite he adopts the comprtement of dominant..........
COAT
Hairs
Can be smooth, rough or like ‘iron wire’. It should be weather resistant. You should not modify the hairs in any way (shave) to give him an aspect of smooth hair or ‘iron wire’ hair.
COLOUR
The white colour should be predominant with black or firey marks. The firey marks can range from light fawn to dark fawn (chestnut brown colour)
Renown/famous/late Lately known
The history of this race, breed, pedigree dates from the XIX century with révérend John Russell’s (called Jack) passion for hunting and for dogs. His aim was to make a dog especially adapted for fox hunting, from a strain of fox terrier with rough skin. Despite popularity across the channel, this breed suffered a long time from competition by foxes.
The club for the breed was founded in 1884. It was not until 1990 that official recognition of Jack Russels was obtained by the Kennel club, also by FFI. (Fédération Cynologique International)
The public welcomed him immediately. In France this breed has been known with sucess since the 1980’s.
Size
Jack Russells
Ideal size is between 25cm and 30cm, weighing 6kg to 7kg. The conformity is essential. It is neither a ‘little parson’ nor a ‘dog with a too long back’. The Jack is a dog relatively stout, without that being a problem for his mobility , which should be good.
Parsons
Standard size is 30cm minimum and 38cm maximum. Recognition by the kennel club therefore eliminated a kind of ‘minature parson’( more square and less than 28cm)
A perfectly white dog
A Jack Russell or a Parson Russell terrier can be totally white without this bringing prejudice for his confirmation.
Carliste Tack, a white dog, directly issued from a strain of the reverend and bred by William Carrick, is often quoted by the english as a dog the nearest you get to the ideal race breed
Crufts was won in 1993 by a completley white male. Brunsparagon bucko Joe.
We can not say it enough a Russell can be completely white, without even the smallest mark!
The under coat.
In both sizes Jack Russells can be born with smooth hair. But rough or smooth alike the dog must have a good undercoat which will help him to resist through a long day of hunting and the worst kind of bush.
???We prefer rough hair, closer to the original Russell. But a dog with smooth hair, well built should not be penalised because of the texture of its hair. The judge who knows this breed knows that bushy eyebrows with a little beard can help dress up an ordinary dog.
A firey character
A Jack Russell is lively and tough. He has a concentration of energy with a rapidity will surprise you.
On the ground the dog shows great boldness. Nothing frightens him. He will run after small or big animals with the same enthusiasm. His strong body, with muscley limbs goes well with this intrepid temperament. You will often notice the step:pace..... this is completely normal, it is a style that makes this race completely different from all others.
His almond eyes, express in particular the vivacity of this active and agile character.
The Jack Russell when not at work will voluntarily put all his dynamisme into games in the company of his master. The affection and devotion displayed wipes away the sometimes difficult character that he shares with the decendants of terriers, a group of dogs who have the reputation of being stubborn and proud.
Minimal Care
The Jack Russell is a rustic dog. His maintenance/care is easy.
Smooth, rough, or any kind of hair does not require much looking after. You can brush him when you feel it is neccessary. The club does not report any particular health problems. The Jack Russell terrier or Parson can live in the country as in town. His imperious need to run about in fresh air is counterbalanced by his little size which makes life in an appartement easy. He must however be walked reguarly.
